What is Living Streets?

Living Streets is a BEST program that promotes walking for its myriad of benefits and identifies opportunities for public engagement in the pedestrian realm.

We read, learn and provide updates from peers and best practices around walkability.

We share this knowledge through our communications channels, through both online and in-person events.

We foster engagement at the municipal and provincial levels.

4 Seasons Walks

We organize walks for all ages and abilities to improve mental health, reduce depression, and fight social isolation. This program offers the benefits of fostering spaces for newcomers to meet, explore their community, and learn how to use public transit and other alternatives to driving.

Flâneuse

We are building a network of women with professional transportation and urban planning backgrounds, to talk and reflect on walking, planning, and transportation, via a selection of books where women and walkability play a significant role. We encourage all self-identifying women to join!

We need your support!

Living Streets is always looking to partner with local community organizations to promote walking throughout Metro Vancouver.

We organize walks for All Ages and Abilities to improve mental health, reduce depression, and fight social isolation.

Through different programs, we have been fostering spaces for newcomers to meet other people, explore the spaces around their community, and learn how to use public transit and other alternatives to driving.

Here you can find all the routes we walked with Living Streets!
All of them have a video description. You can see the terrain and what is around you while walking. A perfect teaser for trying them yourself.

Isabel’s Walks are the response to the pandemic, where we share local walks around transit stations.

4 Seasons Walks is one step forward, and we invite you to join us. Keep an eye for the upcoming ones and register for free!

We strive to welcome everyone in these activities by planning safe and comfortable routes. We go for the #RelaxAndEnjoy mindset where you can talk to other participants and enjoy the moment.

All of our walks’ meeting points are at TransLink landmarks, sometimes Skytrain stations, sometimes bus stops. Learn more about the Access Transit Program and how to best use its services.
